Biographical Information[edit]

Omar Rosario played in the Oakland Athletics minor league system from 1997-2001. He reached AAA on multiple occasions, but never on a consistent basis where he could expect to be called up to the major leagues at some point. In his five minor league seasons Rosario hit .253/.377/.345 while appearing in 504 games. Defensively he played all three outfield positions with occasional appearances at first base. After leaving the A's organization, Rosario played in independent leagues in 2003 with the Atlantic League's Road Warriors and in 2009 with the Rio Grande Valley White Wings of the United League.

In 2016 the Houston Astros hired Rosario to coach in their player development system.

Rosario was scheduled to coach hitters for the GCL Braves in 2020 before the minor league season was cancelled due to COVID-19.
