Oleg Broussov

From BR Bullpen

Oleg Broussov was the starting third baseman and #3 hitter for the Ukrainian national team in their European Championship debut, at the 1995 European Championship. After going 0 for 2 against the Dutch national team's Erik Lommerde, he singled off future four-team Olympian Rob Cordemans for the second hit in team history (Vitally Romanov had preceded him by one batter). He hit .250/.360/.350 for the event, with two doubles, two runs and two RBI in seven games, fielding .880. He tied Igor Kovalenko for the team lead in doubles. Among the 11 qualifiers at third base, he was the median man in fielding percentage, between Klaus Knüttel and Giel ten Bosch. A player listed as Oleh Briusov was on Ukraine in the 1997 European Championship; given inconsistencies in transliteration, it might be the same individual.
