Biographical Information[edit]

O.J. McDuffie was picked by the California Angels in the 41st round of the 1991 amateur draft after being an outfielder at Penn State. He was not the last notable pick by the Angels, as they took Aaron Boone in the 43rd and Jacob Cruz in the 45th (both opted for college instead) and another football player, Browning Nagle in the 51st. McDuffie's future was brighter in football than baseball, being a first-round pick of the Miami Dolphins. There, he teamed with another former baseball draftee, Dan Marino (Royals-1979), as a good WR-QB combination. In 1998, he led the NFL with 90 receptions.
