Biographical Information[edit]
Although Nyls Nyman had a four-year career in the major leagues, virtually all of his at-bats came in 1975 when he had 327 at-bats for the Chicago White Sox at the age of 21. His last appearance in the bigs was at age 23 in 1977, when he had one at-bat.
In 1975, he was the third outfielder for the White Sox, and while his batting average was low at .226, he showed some promise with 10 stolen bases and 3 triples. He made 8 errors in the outfield.
He is the brother of Chris Nyman.
A "Nyls Nyman" coached at Lincoln College from 1984-1986. A "Nyls Nyman" was also the coach for the Susanville Junior All Stars in Lassen County and was a sports coach at Lassen Community College.
