Biographical Information[edit]
Norman Triplett was signed by Hilldale in 1917 and went 2 for 7 as a backup outfielder. He served in the 803rd Pioneer Infantry during World War I. On October 20, 1918, he died of disease while serving his country. Triplett's brothers Wally and Mahlon both played semipro ball; Mahlon's son Wally later was drafted by the NFL's Detroit Lions.
