Norman St. Clair has pitched for the Nicaraguan national team.
He debuted with Costa Caribe in the 2016 Nicaraguan amateur league, going 3-0 with 4 saves and a 3.05 ERA. [1] He was 9-5 with a save and a 3.05 ERA in a league-high 34 games the next year. He fell to 3-3, 3.57 in 2018 and 4-2, 3.90 with 2 saves in '19. He was 8-5 with a 3.72 ERA in 2020. [2] He then made Nicaragua's squad for the 2020 Americas Olympic Qualifier. He pitched one game, relieving Kevin Gadea with a 5-2 deficit, two on and no outs in the 4th against Puerto Rico. He began by retiring former major leaguer Rey Navarro. Edwin Gómez walked to load the bases but St. Clair then retired 11 in a row, starting with a strikeout of former big leaguer Jesmuel Valentín. Berman Espinoza took over in the 8th, with Nicaragua having tied it at 5, St. Clair having done a stellar job. [3]
