Biographical Information[edit]
First baseman Norm Price played in the minor leagues from 1909 to 1912 and from 1914 to 1917. Seasons of note include 1911, when he hit .286 with a career-high 158 hits, 26 doubles and 202 total bases in 139 games for the Bay City Billikens, 1912, when he hit .381 in 54 games for the York Prohibitionists, 1914, when he hit .290 with 135 hits and 18 steals in 128 games for the Moose Jaw Robin Hoods and 1915, when he hit a career-high 11 home runs in 130 games for the Tulsa Producers. He managed the Junction City Soldiers in 1913, the Tulsa Producers in 1915 and 1916 (replacing George Kelsey partway through 1915) and the Pawhuska Huskers in 1920 (being replaced by Don Moseley partway through the season). His brothers, Howard Price and Ted Price, played and managed in the minor leagues.
Per one source, his playing career actually spanned 1905 to 1920, with a break in 1918 and 1919.[1] His birthplace is listed as Guthrie, OK per his The Sporting News contract card.[2]
