Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Noel Mickelsen spent eight years in the minor leagues, mostly in the Milwaukee Braves system, playing from 1956 to 1963. He spent the last five years of his career at Triple-A.
He won at least ten games four times. In 1956, he was 12-7 for the Boise Braves. Between the Evansville Braves (17-5, 2.54 ERA), and Jacksonville Braves (0-3, 18.00 ERA) in 1957, he was 17-8 with a 3.02 mark. In 1959, his first year at Triple-A, he was 3-6 in 34 games (eight starts) with the Sacramento Solons. For the Portland Beavers in 1960, he went 13-17 and with the Vancouver Mounties in 1961, he went 11-10.
Overall, Mickelsen was 71-62 with a 3.88 ERA.
He also played basketball at San Diego State University.
He was later head baseball coach at Grossmont College.
