Biographical Information

Noé Muñoz, who played briefly in the majors, has had a long career in Mexican baseball.

Muñoz was up briefly with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1995 in Tommy Lasorda's last full season as a manager. The regular catcher that year was Mike Piazza, who slugged over .600.

He was 2 for 22 for the Mexican national team in the 2006 Americas qualifier for the 2008 Olympics. In the 2007 Pan American Games, he was 0 for 4 as a back-up to Gerónimo Gil. He also had played for Mexico in the 2003 Pan American Games, winning a Bronze Medal.

Muñoz backed up Iker Franco in the 2008 Americas Baseball Cup, going 2 for 7 and reaching base in 5 of 10 appearances.

In July 2011, he replaced Orlando Sanchez as manager of the Saraperos de Saltillo when the club started 35-50; Sanchez had led the team to two straight titles, big shoes to fill.

Ramirez played professionally until 2014, giving him a 25-year career. He played until he was 46.
