Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Nobuo Kura was one of the first members of the Tokyo Giants, getting one at-bat with the team in its first season in the Japanese Professional Baseball League and three in the fall campaign of 1936. He went 1 for 5 in the spring 1937 season and was 3 for 13 in the fall. He went 0 for 3 in 1939 to finish with a .160/.300/.160 line in 32 plate appearances and 16 games. He injured his shoulder and became an umpire. In 1944, he was drafted into the Japanese military and died in the Battle of Okinawa.
