Biographical Information[edit]
Nikolay Marishev played in the Russian League for the Red Devils (1993-1995) and SKV (1997-2001 at least). He was on the Russian national team in the 1995 European Championship and did well, hitting .400/.438/.467 while alternating between the corner outfield spots (3 PO) and third base (3 A). He was second on the team in average, behind former minor leaguer Evgeny Puchkov, and tied Alexander Nizov for second with four RBI, one shy of Igor Makhambetov.
He is almost definitely the same person as the Nikolaj Marishev (typos being common with transliteration of Cyrillic names to English) listed with Russia in the 1993 European Championship, who hit .167/.333/.208 with a team-high six walks, and five runs (tied for second behind Sergei Gigalov) in eight games, while fielding .870. He was Russia's main right fielder in the event.
