Biographical Information[edit]

Nick Reeder played one game for the 1891 Louisville Colonels at third base. He also had several seasons in minor league ball, and previously had played for the semi-pro Deppens of Louisville. Sources: Sporting Life, March 7 and April 4, 1891. The April 25 issue said that Reeder, although a good man, had been released. The March 25, 1893 issue referred to him playing some more games with the Deppens.

His obituary appeared in the October 6, 1894 issue of Sporting Life. It called him a well-known Louisville player who had played with the Deppens and with the major league Louisville team. He died "after a brief illness of brain fever". He had played in the Southern League earlier the same year and also been with the Lexington team.

He is not to be confused with Icicle Reeder, a player born in Cincinnati, OH, and who played in the majors a few years earlier.
