Nick Owen
Nick Owen was a first baseman for Team Canada in the 1971 Amateur World Series. He played on 14 champions in Ontario, won four batting titles and two MVP awards there. He later coached youth baseball in Canada, managed Ontario in the 1975 Canadian Senior Championship and was the first manager of the Intercounty Baseball League's Barrie Baycats in 2001. He also was a softball player and umpire and a basketball referee. He was named to the Barrie Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.
