Biographical Information[edit]
Nick Cafardo was a sportswriter for the Boston Globe who primarily covered the Boston Red Sox, starting in 1989 until his passing. He also worked for The Enterprise of Brockton, MA and The Patriot Ledger of Quincy, MA.
He authored numerous books: If These Walls Could Talk: Stories for the Boston Red Sox (2019, with Jerry Remy), 100 Things Red Sox Fans Should Know & Do Before They Die (2014), Boston Red Sox: Yesterday & Today (2007) and Inside Pitch: Playing and Broadcasting the Game I Love (2016, with Tom Glavine).
He died on an off day during spring training in 2019, when he was covering the Red Sox in Fort Myers, FL. He was a member of the Baseball Writers' Association of America and posthumously won the J.G. Taylor Spink Award for meritorious contributions to baseball writing as part of the 2020 Hall of Fame class.
