Biographical Information

Nerluis Martinez is from Venezuela and played in the Philadelphia Phillies minor league system from 2015-2018. He split his playing time between catching and first base, with catching being his primary position. Apart from one 2018 game with the Lakewood BlueClaws, Martinez played all of his games in short-season leagues. Overall he batted .220 with an OBP of .285 and a slugging percentage of .312 while appearing in 119 games.

Following his playing career, Martinez served as a coach for the Reading Fightin Phils in 2021. He then became manager for the DSL Phillies Red in 2022-2023.
