Neil Burne was the primary third baseman for the Zimbabwean national team in the 1999 All Africa Games, usually hitting second. He hit .526/?/.789 with 6 RBI, 7 stolen bases and 3 errors. He led the Bronze Medal-winning team in hits (2 over Mandishona Mtasa), was 3rd in RBI (behind Mtasa and Lewis Kufazvinei) and led in steals. He led the Games as a whole in swipes, two more than Mtasa, Adedeji Adekunli, Sabastian Marumane, Simbaras Manunure, Witness Dube and Noah Kpeli.
