Biographical Information[edit]

Relief pitcher Nefi Ogando began his professional career in 2010. He was signed by Boston Red Sox scout Manny Nanita.

He had ERAs of 2.91 and 2.83 his first two campaigns. After posting elevated marks in 2012 and 2013, he was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies for John McDonald. He had a 6.27 ERA in his first season with the new organization (2014) - though he averaged more than a strikeout per inning - yet in 2015, he reached Triple-A for the first time and then made his big league debut late in the year.
