Outfielder Nesbit Wilson played minor league baseball from 1940 to 1960, missing 1943-1945 due to military service. He led his league in RBI five times, HR four times, BA three times and won the triple crown in the 1950 Southeastern League and 1958 Alabama-Florida League. In addition he led his league in 2B four times, R three times, and H once. Wilson served as player/manager from 1955 to 1958. In total, he hit over 300 home runs.
Wilson only it above class-B ball in 1951, when he played for the Shreveport Sports of the Texas League and the Denver Bears of the Western League. He hit .286 with 14 HR in 402 AB that year. For his career, Wilson hit .326 with 329 HR and 1584 RBI in 7276 AB.
