Biographical Information[edit]

Nasusel Cabrera pitched in the Oakland A's chain from 1986 to 1988.

Cabrera coached pitchers in the Dominican Republic for 18 years, from 1989-2006. He spent the winter of 2005/2006 as a coach for the Leones del Escogido in the Dominican League. Cabrera started the season as the team's bullpen coach before being promoted to pitching coach on January 3, 2006.

The Seattle Mariners hired Cabrera in 2007 and he worked in the Mariners organization through 2023 in various roles. Cabrera was the pitching coach for the DSL Mariners in 2007, Everett AquaSox in 2008, Pulaski Mariners in 2009-2013, and Everett again in 2014. From 2010-2015 he also served as the Mariners Latin American Pitching Coordinator. The year 2015 marked a transition for Cabrera. In July, 2015 the Mariners promoted him to the major league staff as batting practice pitcher with other assorted duties. This was his primary role through 2023. When bullpen coach Mike Hampton resigned suddenly at the All-Star break in 2017, Cabrera replaced him on an interim basis until the end of the season. Cabrera also made a second appearance in the Dominican League during these years. He was the Estrellas Orientales pitching coach in 2020/2021.

Cabrera moved to the Chicago White Sox organization in 2024 as a development coach for the ACL White Sox.
