Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Nariaki Kawasaki played for the Kumamoto Golden Larks in the industrial leagues after college. The Yakult Swallows took him in the 6th round of the 2010 NPB draft, then he joined the Japanese national team for the 2010 Asian Games. He did not make his debut in Nippon Pro Baseball until 2014. In his first game, he pinch-hit for Tatsuyoshi Masubuchi with a 5-0 deficit to lead off the 9th against the Hanshin Tigers. Facing Kazuya Tsutsui, he grounded out to 1B Takahiro Arai. Kawasaki's first NPB hit came off Tsuyoshi Kikuchihara.
