Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Muhammad Sumair Zawar has played for Pakistan for a decade.

He appeared in the 2007 Asian Championship and 2010 Asian Games. In the 2014 Asian Games, he scored their only run against Japan's Reo Moriyasu and scored five times in a rout of Mongolia. He finished the event 4 for 10 with a double, the six runs, three walks and four steals in four tries. He led the event in swipes and led Pakistan in runs, OBP and average (tied with Khurram Raza Khan.

Zawar was again a key leader for Pakistan in the 2015 Asian Championship, going 5 for 15 with two walks, a run and four RBI while fielding .900 in center. He was second on the team in hits and average (behind Ubaid Ullah) and had most of the team's RBI (his teammates combined for 3). In the 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, he was Pakistan's leadoff hitter and center fielder. He singled off Jean Tomé to open Pakistan's first game against Brazil, a nice start to Pakistan's first global contest (having only played in Asian tournaments to that point). He was picked off, though, and was 0 for 5 in the rest of the event.
