Mort "Dutch" Flohr attended Duke University from 1932-34 and made his major league debut on June 8, 1934. He appeared in 14 games for Connie Mack's 1934 Philadelphia Athletics.
Flohr, in either his first or second game in the majors, hit Babe Ruth on the wrist with a pitched ball.
