Montreal Canucks

From BR Bullpen

From 1897 through 1960, only two teams in Montréal, QC were not known as the Montreal Royals. The first one was the 1906 Montreal Canucks of the Eastern League. Managed by Jimmy Bannon and later Malachi Kittridge, the club went 57-83, 28 games out of first and 7th in the 8-team EL, ahead of only the Toronto Maple Leafs. Among the brighter spots were the pitching of John Pappalau (15-13) and Bobby Keefe (7-6) and the hitting of OF Frank Huelsman (.267, 21 SB, .396 SLG, tied for third in the league with five home runs).
