Biographical Information[edit]
Momotaro Matsumoto played for Honda in the industrial leagues after college. [1] He was on the list of candidates for the Japanese national team for the 2017 Asian Championship but was not selected. [2] In the 2018 Asian Games, he did play for Japan. Versus China, he homered twice and tripled. He hit .333/.375/.933 with 5 RBI in 4 games as Japan's DH entering the finale. He was second in slugging (to Jae-gyun Hwang), tied for 3rd in home runs and tied Jawad Ali and Matthew Holliday for 4th in total bases. In the Gold Medal Game, he was 0 for 3 in a loss to South Korea. [3]
