Biographical Information[edit]
Mitchell Hughson has pitched in the Australian Baseball League and for the New Zealand national team.
Hughson was 3-3 with a save and a 5.48 ERA in junior college in 2017-2018. [1] Returning to Australia, he was 0-1 with a 5.23 ERA for the Adelaide Bite in the 2018-2019 ABL. He had a 8.53 ERA in 2019-2020, pitching three games apiece for the Auckland Tuatara and Brisbane Bandits.
The right-hander allowed two runs in a third of an inning for Adelaide in 2020-2021. The ABL did not play in the winter of 2021-2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He was one of two Australian natives on the New Zealand pitching staff in the 2022 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers (alongside Todd Hatcher) but did not get into a game. [2]
