Misael López has been one of Cuba's all-time workhorses. Pitching for Granma, Misael led the 1993-1994 Serie Nacional with 132 hits. He led with 21 hit batsmen in 2002-2003. He tied Danny Betancourt for the lead with 19 hit batters in 2004-2005.

In 23 seasons through 2007-2008, Misael had gone 147-150 with 16 saves and a 4.67 ERA. He went 1-1 with a 8.74 ERA in 2008-2009, giving up 38 hits in 22 2/3 IP.

Through 2008-2009, López was among the all-time Cuban leaders in seasons pitched (24, 2nd to Carlos Alberto Yanes), games pitched (535, 3rd) and losses (8th),.
