Biographical Information[edit]

Mingquan Zhu was a pitcher for the Chinese national team in the 1994 Asian Games. [1] He was one of five Chinese hurlers on the team in the 2003 Baseball World Cup and their lone southpaw. He had a 6.17 ERA in five outings (14 H, 7 BB, 5 K in 11 2/3 IP). He did not get a decision and was second on the team in ERA, behind Li Zhang (their only other hurler with five appearances). He tied for 4th in the Cup in games pitched, behind Pedro Luis Lazo, Rolando Herrera and D.J. Johnson. [2] He played for the Shanghai Eagles until 2005. [3]
