Biographical Information[edit]
Min-Ching Kao pitched briefly in the Chinese Professional Baseball League through 2008.
Kao was with the Taiwan squad for the 2005 Baseball World Cup, going 0-1 with a 1.93 ERA and taking the loss against Team USA. He was drafted in the second round of the 2006 CPBL Draft by the Chinatrust Whales. In 2007, he led the Taiwanese minors in strikeouts and wins. made it to the CPBL in 2008 with the Whales, going 2-5 with a save and a 5.53 ERA in 23 outings. After the Whales were disbanded due to a game-fixing scandal, Kao was not picked in the special distribution draft.
Kao's repertoire includes a fastball (peak speed 93 mph), slider, changeup, sinker and forkball.
