Biographical Information[edit]
Milt Graff signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization out of high school. He spent most of his career in the minors, with a brief trial for the Kansas City A's in 1957 and 1958; his career was interrupted by the Korean War, when he served in the Army.
After his playing days ended, Graff got a degree in accounting. He held several jobs in that field and also spent a significant portion of time working in baseball. Among the positions he held were assistant general manager (1977-1983) and Scouting Director (1984) for the Pittsburgh Pirates, infield coach for the Pirates and director of stadium operations at Three Rivers Stadium. He served as a scout for the Pirates, San Francisco Giants and Cincinnati Reds.
While he died in Texas, his body was repatriated to his native Pennsylvania for burial at Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery in Saxonburg, PA.
