Biographical Information

Miles "Pepe" Lucas played briefly in the Negro Leagues.

The Biographical Encyclopedia of the Negro Baseball Leagues lists him with the Cuban Stars in 1919-1920 as a regular outfielder and pitcher. He then pitched for lesser teams like the New Orleans Crescent Stars. In 1925, he was 3-1 with a save and a 3.29 ERA (143 ERA+) for the Harrisburg Giants and helping his own cause by going 5 for 14 at the plate. Had he qualified, he would have been 6th in the Eastern Colored League in ERA, between Connie Rector and Webster McDonald. He saw bit action the next two years for Harrisburg.
