Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Mike Reeves began his professional career in 2005 and played on-and-off until 2019. He spent his entire career in independent baseball.

He played for the Golden Baseball League's Surprise Fightin' Falcons in 2005, the American Association's El Paso Diablos in 2006, the GBL's Reno Silver Sox in 2008, the same league's Victoria Seals in 2009, the United League's Edinburg Roadrunners in 2010, the Pecos League's Garden City Wind in 2015 and the same league's California City Whiptails in 2019. He finished with a career ERA of 10.12, posting season marks above 10 in 5 of his 7 campaigns. His lowest mark was 7.01, when he went 4-4 in 11 starts for Edinburg in 2010. His highest mark was 19.29, when he was 0-2 in 5 games (3 starts) for Reno in 2009. Overall, Reeves went 6-12 in 56 games (16 starts). In 121 innings, he allowed 188 hits and 101 walks (2.388 WHIP), while striking out 97 batters.

He managed the Wind to a 21-43, 4th-place finish in 2015 and was the first of two skippers for the Whiptails in 2019, being replaced by Tyler England partway through the season. He was removed from his post due to his conduct with umpires -- at one point, he was ejected three times in one week.
