Pitcher Mike Pomeranz played several seasons of minor league baseball before embarking on a career in television.

Pomeranz was selected by the Minnesota Twins out of Clemson in the 13th round of the 1988 amateur draft and played two years in their organization. Prior to the 1990 season, he was traded along with Orlando Lind to the Pittsburgh Pirates for Junior Ortiz. He later pitched in the Baltimore Orioles chain.

After his baseball days, Pomeranz worked as a news anchor for WCBS-TV in New York City and KARE-TV in Minneapolis. In early 2012, he announced he was joining the San Diego Padres broadcast team.
