Biographical Information

The son of Thurman Munson, Mike Munson spent two seasons in the minors. Undrafted, he played for the 1996 GCL Yankees. He showed good contact with some pop, going 12 for 40 with 2 doubles, a homer and two walks. He struggled defensively with 7 passed balls in 18 games and 16 opponent steals in 19 tries. He played one game and did not bat for the '97 Greensboro Bats and finished the year with the independent Canton Crocodiles, going 5 for 25 with two doubles and five walks. He had 5 passed balls in 7 contests for Canton.
