Biographical Information[edit]

Mike Moore was a long-time minor league executive.

Moore grew up in Columbus, IN. He injured his shoulder as a college freshman, ending his playing career. He got involved as a broadcaster for the Tampa Tarpons while a junior and senior at the University of Tampa. He was a TV sports reporter in the 1970s. From 1971-1988, Moore was General Manager, Vice President and part owner of the Tarpons.

From 1991-2007, he was president of the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues, the longest tenure of anyone in that role since George Trautman (1947-1963). In 2009, he was an inaugural inductee in the Florida State League Hall of Fame.
