Biographical Information[edit]
Mike Jeffcoat has been a college coach.
Jeffcoat had a 1.99 ERA at West Florida in 1990-1991, saving nine games. He was not drafted out of college, but signed with the St. Louis Cardinals. He pitched for the AZL Cardinals (2-2, Sv, 6.08, 32 K in 26 2/3 IP) and Johnson City Cardinals (1 R in 1 1/3 IP). He then went back to West Florida as a graduate assistant coach in 1993-1994. He was pitching coach for Pensacola Junior College in 1995. From 1996-2000, he was 107-138 as head coach of Alabama Southern Community College. He started his third stint at UWF in 2001, serving five years as pitching coach. In August 2005, he was promoted to head coach and was 166-119 after five seasons at the helm. The school set a record with 43 wins in 2007, when they won their first Gulf South Conference title. Jeffcoat won GSC Coach of the Year honors.
