Biographical Information[edit]
Mike Fitzpatrick was an umpire.
Fitzpatrick worked for 12 seasons in the minors, in the Gulf Coast League, Florida State League, Texas League and American Association. He then became a field supervisor (1978-1987), working as a replacement umpire for 31 games in the 1979 American League during an umpiring strike. He was Director of Field Supervision in the minors from 1988-1996, Executive Director of the Professional Baseball Umpire Corp. from 1997-2007 and Special Assistant to Minor League Baseball starting in 2008.
