Biographical Information

Mike Fitzgerald reached the majors briefly with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1988, at a time when regular first baseman Bob Horner was sidelined by an injury. His namesake, catcher Mike Fitzgerald was playing for the Montreal Expos at the time. His son Mike Fitzgerald Jr. played one season in the minor leagues, and his second son, Tyler Fitzgerald, reached the majors in 2023.
