Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Mike Fetters was signed as a 1st round pick in the 1986 amateur draft by the California Angels and scout Kevin Malone. He pitched for Team USA in the 1985 Intercontinental Cup on a staff which also included Jack McDowell, Kevin Brown and Erik Hanson and had future major leaguers at almost every position. Despite all that MLB talent, the US was just 2-5 even though the four teams to finish ahead of them combined to produce 0 future major leaguers.
In 2011, Fetters was Special Assistant to the Executive Vice President & GM for the Arizona Diamondbacks. In 2015, he was added to the D-Backs' coaching staff as a Quality Assurance Coach. In 2017, he replaced Garvin Alston as bullpen coach.
