Biographical Information[edit]

Mike Ericson pitched five seasons in the minors, then worked as a scout.

Erickson saved 11 games for Michigan State in 1990, tying him for 9th in NCAA Division I. The independent Miami Miracle took him in the 16th round of the 1990 amateur draft. He went 2-2 with a save and a 4.00 ERA in 25 games for them in 1990, then was 1-3 with a 2.70 ERA for the 1991 Miracle. He pitched for the 1992 Visalia Oaks, going 2-5 with 9 saves and a 2.90 ERA, striking out 70 in 62 innings. He spent his last two seasons as a player in the Colorado Rockies system. He had a 0-5, 5.78 record for the 1993 Central Valley Rockies, surrendering 90 hits in 67 innings. He wrapped up by going 1-2 with a save and a 5.31 ERA in 13 games for the 1994 New Haven Ravens. Overall, the right-hander was 6-17 with 11 saves and a 4.14 ERA in 119 minor league games. In 222 IP, he allowed 252 hits and 81 walks while striking out 190.

After his playing career ended, he remained with Colorado as a scout. He signed Mike Esposito, Jordan Pacheco, Kiel Roling and Eric Young Jr.
