Biographical Information[edit]
Mike Drissel, from St. Louis, MO, played six games at catcher for the 1885 St. Louis Browns, a team which went 79-33 to win the pennant.
The team's regular catcher was Doc Bushong.
Sporting Life of Sept. 16, 1885 called him Nick Drissel, and said he had previously played for the amateur St. Gothards in St. Louis and for the Jacksonville, IL minor league club.
In April 1886 Sporting Life said that a player named Drissel had signed with Buffalo. In May, however, the publication said he was blacklisted for "non-fulfillment of contract", which presumably meant he didn't show up.
