Biographical Information[edit]
After attending Santa Clara University, Mike Cummins played one year of minor league ball, spending 1979 with the unaffiliated Salem Senators of the Northwest League and hitting .298 in 66 games.
Following his playing days, Cummins was a high school coach, including Buchser High School, before joining the Santa Clara staff. He was Santa Clara's head coach from 1998 to 2001. Following two years as an assistant coach at Washington State University, he was head coach at Walla Walla Community College from 2004-2009. From 2010-2015, he was head coach at San Francisco State University. Cummins was an assistant coach at San Jose State University in 2016, then became head coach of California State University, East Bay in 2017.
