Biographical Information[edit]

Mike Campbell was signed as a 1st round pick in the 1985 amateur draft by the Seattle Mariners and scout Bob Zuk. Mike was the 1987 Pacific Coast League MVP, going 15-2 with a 2.66 ERA in 24 games (leading the league in wins), making his big league debut that season with a 1-4, 4.74 record in 9 starts. He was never able to stick as a viable big leaguer, chronic shoulder issues sapping much of his prime. He went 6-10, 5.89 in 20 starts in 1988, his most extensive action, and was packaged with Mark Langston to the Montreal Expos in the deal that brought Randy Johnson to the Pacific Northwest in 1989. He never took the mound for the Expos, however. Mike's finest season may have been his final one, going 3-1, 4.46 in 13 games (5 starts) with the Chicago Cubs in 1996.
