Pariente got one of the biggest hits in Spanish history. In the bottom of the 9th of a 6-6 game against Puerto Rico, he singled home the winning run off Jose Mateo to give Spain its only Olympic win.

Pariente was 0-1 with 15 runs in 5 2/3 IP and 17 hits in 33 at-bats in the 1993 Intercontinental Cup. At the plate, he was 5 for 24 with four walks and the lone Spanish steal. He fielded .935 while alternating between short, second, third, left field and the mound. In the 1993 European Championship, he hit .159/.227/.159 and fielded .912 at 2B yet still managed five RBI in five games. He did not pitch in that event.

Pariente was still an active player in Spain's Division Honor at age 45 in 2010.
