Biographical Information[edit]

Michele Gerali has been an outfielder in the Italian Baseball League. His brother Gilberto Gerali has played and coached in Italy.

Gerali debuted in Italy's top level in 2000, the year he turned 30. He was 6 for 18 with a double and two walks. He also pitched, allowing five runs on four walks and six hits in four innings. He returned in 2003 with Reggio Emilia and hit .257/.329/.257 with no extra-base hits in 140 AB. After another year off, he hit .241/.304/.271 for Reggio Emilia in 2005. Moving to Modena in 2006, he improved to .323/.390/.381 and stole 10 bases in 12 tries. He was 8th in the league in average, between former minor leaguers Mario Chiarini and Vic Gutierrez. He also tied for 6th in swipes.

In 2007, he slumped to .150/.239/.175 for Godo. The next year, he was with his hometown Parma club, batting .237/.286/.263 and tossed 4 1/3 shutout innings (3 H, 3 BB) in his first pitching in eight years. He was a backup flyhawk for Parma in 2009 (6 for 45, 2B, 10 BB) and 2010 (9 for 39, 6 BB; 1 shutout inning on the mound). He was 0 for 2 in the 2010 Italian Series, won by Parma. In 2011, he was 8 for 35. He was 0 for 2 in the 2011 European Cup. For 2012, he signed with the North East Knights.
