Michael Tompkins

Michael Tompkins became a head coach at age 24.
Tompkins hit .348 in 2009 and had a 2-1, 4.57 record for Centenary. In 2010-2011, he was assistant coach at Alabama A&M University. When Ed McCann resigned due to health reasons, Tompkins was promoted to head coach. At age 24, he was the youngest head baseball coach in NCAA Division I for the 2012 season. After a 8-41 season in 2013, he resigned to move closer to family preceding the upcoming birth of his daughter.
