Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Michael Papierski played in two editions of the College World Series for Louisiana State University, in 2015 and 2017; the second time, he was the catcher on the All-Tournament Team as LSU made it to the finals. He was drafted in the 9th round of the 2017 amateur draft by the Houston Astros, having earlier been a 16th round pick in the 2014 amateur draft, by the Toronto Blue Jays.
On May 14, 2022 he was traded by the Astros to the San Francisco Giants in return for infielder Mauricio Dubón. A week later, on May 21st, he made his major league debut with the Giants, starting at catcher against the San Diego Padres. He went 0 for 2 before being pinch-hit for by Evan Longoria in the 7th inning.
