Biographical Information[edit]
Michael Johnson made his pro debut in 2011.
Johnson hit .325/.405/.395 with 48 runs in 56 games as a freshman second baseman at Samford. He fell to .240/.329/.328 as a sophomore while moving to shortstop. His junior year, he was at .330/.412/.515. As a senior, he put up a .342/.415/.433 line with 56 runs in 60 games and 11 steals in 14 tries. He finished with a Samford-record 175 career runs. The Chicago White Sox took him in the 31st round of the 2011 amateur draft. Warren Hughes was the scout. As a rookie with the Bristol White Sox, he hit .276/.344/.433 with 37 runs in 54 games.
Johnson may have scouted for the White Sox [1]. He became a manager with the AZL Giants Black in 2019.
