Biographical Information[edit]

Michael Briglia was a very successful college coach.

Briglia turned down some offers to turn pro to go to Ohio University, where he was All-Mid-American Conference as a junior and senior. He was a second Lieutenant in the Korean War. He was assistant coach at Ohio from 1954-1956 and coached at Cherry Hill West High School from 1958-1962. He then coached baseball (1964-1988), golf and tennis at Glassboro State College. He was 502-258-9 as baseball coach and was named NAIA Coach of the Year in 1968 and 1978. He took Glassboro State to numerous title series - the 1965 NAIA College World Series, 1967 NAIA College World Series, 1968 NAIA College World Series, 1969 NAIA College World Series, 1977 Division III College World Series, 1978 Division III College World Series, 1979 Division III College World Series and 1984 Division III College World Series. He won national titles in 1978 and 1979. In 1990, he was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
