Biographical Information

Mauricio Tabachnik has pitched as high as AAA.

Tabachnik signed with the San Diego Padres in January 2008; the scout was Robert Rowley. He debuted as a pro that summer with the AZL Padres, going 2-4 with a 4.91 ERA and a .321 opponent average. He moved up to the Eugene Emeralds in 2009 but did worse (2-4, Sv, 5.94, .313 average allowed). Back with Eugene in 2010, he improved to 3-4, 3.48 and walked only 12 in 62 innings while allowing a .279 average. He then returned to his native Mexico to pitch for the Guerreros de Oaxaca in 2011, going 1-2 with a 5.36 ERA in 40 games but his control also went south (41 BB in 47 IP).
