Biographical Information[edit]

Relief pitcher Matt Whitehouse began his professional career in 2013.

He was taken by the Cleveland Indians in the 19th round of the 2013 amateur draft. The scout was Ryan Thompson. With the Mahoning Valley Scrappers that year, he went 4-2 with a 0.72 ERA in 14 games (four starts) to earn New York-Penn League Mid-Season All-Star honors. In 2014, he was 2-1 with a 5.51 ERA in 11 appearances for the Lake County Captains, averaging over a strikeout per inning.
